Angela Lee Smith, artist/designer, was born and raised in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts. Angela’s artistic talents surfaced as a child, but her artistic path became clear as a teenager, when she found herself clenched to her SLR camera, photographing the New England punk/hardcore scene during the mid 90’s. She also discovered her obsession with graffiti art and urban street art, which would manifest itself in her design and illustration work for years to come. Angela’s talents would spread across multiple artistic platforms: website interface layout design, print design, branding, multimedia, illustration, fine art and photography.
In 1997, Angela attended Butera School of Art for Commercial Art, where she studied under working in-field freelancers for major companies such as John Hancock, Hill Holiday and Milton Bradley/Hasbro. She graduated in 2000, that same year launching Angelskill, a Boston-based freelance consulting service. She began creating various print designs, and her natural ability to mesh her unique aesthetic style, tireless work ethic, excellent communication skills and extroverted personality led her to a vast list of diverse clients, offering them unique and visually effective marketing tools. Within her first year of designing websites Angela won over a dozen web design awards, and to date has created well over 75 web pages for clients. Angela has also created many paintings and print illustrations which she has sold and also exhibited in gallery shows. Her photography finds itself in a number of different genres whether it be people, events, urban art, live band performances, landscapes or still lifes. All her work can be described as bold, colorful and punchy with an edge held together with a foundation and expertise of traditional design, composition and layout. |

In the spring of 2007, Angela and Angelskill moved to Portland, Maine. She continues to work with her existing worldwide clients, as well as welcoming many new ones. In her free time Angela can be found playing Cello. She lives with her 2 beloved cats, and it should not come as a surprise that she is socially and politically active with several non-profits and animal rights organizations.
